Mobile Veterinary Services
Oregon Mobile Vet Clinic is coming to Dallas!!!! Mark your calendars for Tuesday 3/13/18 from 4-7pm for a microchip/vaccine clinic held at Dallas City Hall Civic Center. This clinic is open to dogs and cats that reside in Polk County.
The first 100 dogs get a free microchip with current license or purchase of 1 year license through City of Dallas. If licensing has expired, late fees will be waived. This includes insert and registration. Please bring any previous vaccine records, rabies tags, or license renewal notices.

Seed to Supper Class in Spanish
Marion-Polk Food Share will be hosting a Seed to Supper course at Colonia Amistad on Thursdays starting March 1st from 6-8pm. The class is in Spanish. Seed to Supper is a 6 week course to teach folks how to grow their own fruits and veggies on a budget. The class is intended for adults, and there will be snacks provided. There is not childcare, but children are welcome attend with their parents. Please call Lexi Stickel to register at (503) 581-3855.


Polk Community Free Clinic
The Polk Community Free Clinic is excited to have a new partnership with the WOU College of Education Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program who will be providing counseling services to our clients and their families. Please contact the clinic office for more details at (503) 831-0551.


Falls City Direct Connect
This is FREE transportation for Falls City residents and provides transportation to and from Dallas and to and from Monmouth. The route schedule can be found here.. Transportation is provided Tuesday and Thursday so please consider scheduling your Falls City clients/patients on those days as they would have free, reliable, and consistent transportation!  In addition, the shuttle is driven by a Resource Connector who is trained to help riders connect and navigate resources and services, and he's awesome! 

Help Fill Our Home" Warehouse

If you or someone you know has household goods or furniture you would like to donate, you can do so on Saturday, March 4th from 9am-12pm at 1050 SE Uglow Dallas.  Please share this information with friends, church members, school staff, and anyone else who is looking for a place to donate their new/gently used household items to help families in need.

Free Dental Care

Capitol Dental has a program that will provide free Dental Care for kids ages 3 - 9 who live in Polk County and have no insurance.  Please let me know if you know anyone who would benefit from this and I will get them more information. Sloan.Kyniv@dsd2.org

Free Firewood 

The Royal Order of Red Suspenders are once again offering free firewood to those who heat their home with wood, but can not afford to buy firewood.  If you know someone that could use this service, please have them call Salem Alliance Church at 503-581-2129 and ask for the RORS Wood line.

Polk County CourtCare
Polk County CourtCare is now open all day on Fridays from 7:30am-5:30pm. This free childcare service is also open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1-5:30pm. CourtCare is child care that is located near the courthouse and is available for children ages six weeks to twelve years old.  Polk County CourtCare is available to anyone who needs to conduct business with the court system (including jurors) or local social service agencies including, but not limited to: Polk County Behavioral Health, Public Health, DHS, or Housing.

ILead Youth Summit 

ILead Youth Summit is coming up in November! This is a leadership summit for any high school student living in Marion County or Polk County and it is completely FREE! This year's theme is "Bridge the Divide" and teens will learn how to listen to understand and other communication skills. ! More information can be found on the website and flyer

ASIST Suicide Prevention Training 
On February 28th and March 1st, we will be offering an ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) in Salem, Oregon at the Willamette Education Service District building. This is a two day training that helps prepare attendees to intervene with those at risk of suicide. You do not need a mental health background for this training. It is designed for most people sixteen years and older. It is also on the National Registry of Best Practices and is recommended by the Oregon Health Authority. The training costs $100 for the two day training, which includes all materials, lunch on both days, and 12.5 CEUs. You can register for either of these training opportunities on the Mid-Willamette Valley Suicide Prevention website.

Willamette Valley Hospice Holiday Events 

The holidays can be difficult after a loss. Join us on November 11 from 9am to noon for a time of learning from an expert speaker & practical suggestions for coping during the holiday season. Stay for optional holiday memory-making activities for the whole family. Then on December 7 from 4:30-5:30pm and 6:30-7:30pm we are holding a community memorial gathering. All are welcome to remember & honor their loves ones at this community event. No registration is necessary. Both events will be held at Willamette Valley Hospice (1015 3rd St NW, Salem). Parenting Classes

Parenting Class:  Make Parenting a Pleasure:  This free parenting class is beginning October 17th and being held at Bambino's , 211 E Ellendale #7.  They will meet each Tuesday from 3:00 - 5:00 and free child care and a snack will be provided.  This is a great way for parents to learn some great skills, but also to connect with other parents.   To register, parents can call Stephanie Gilbert at 503-623-9664 or click  HERE  to register online.

The Kindness Club of Dallas Oregon

The Kindness Club has a Friday Bag program for students of Dallas School District who need extra food assistance over the weekend.  Please contact your school Counselor or Resource person for more information.
