EMERGENCY CLOSURE INFO
Icy, snow packed, and/or flooded roads or other unsafe conditions may make it necessary to close schools, delay the beginning of a school day, or alter bus routes.School District and transportation officials will check roads early each morning when conditions warrant. We will make every effort to have decisions made by 5:30 a.m. to enable stations to make the necessary announcements. Most local radio and television stations will carry emergency information.
One of the following decisions will be announced:
1. SCHOOL CLOSURE
Classes will not be held and buses will not run. All extra-curricular activities and practices are cancelled.
2. ONE-HOUR DELAY
Morning bus runs will be delayed one hour, as will the start of school.
3. TWO-HOUR DELAY
Morning bus runs will be delayed two hours, as will the start of school.
4. SNOW ROUTES
Some roads will not be traveled. If snow routes are used in the morning, those same routes will be used in the afternoon.
5. ONE-HOUR DELAY/SNOW ROUTES
Morning bus runs will be delayed one hour, as will the start of school, and some routes will be altered.
6. TWO-HOUR DELAY/SNOW ROUTES
Morning bus runs will be delayed two hours, as will the start of school, and some routes will be altered.
When the decision is made to utilize "snow routes" it will be determined whether or not to use regular or modified snow routes. The snow routes for each level are as follows:

Additionally, it may be necessary to send students home from school early due to the threat of severe weather or other emergencies. Parents should select a "second home" (preferably a neighbor) where their son or daughter may stay in the event they are away from home.
In any emergency, the Superintendent, or designee, will decide whether or not students should be sent home. The decision may be to send them home immediately, or to keep them in the schools indefinitely under continuous supervision until the emergency has passed. Should the students be held in their respective buildings, parents may pick up their children at school.
